Today, on the feast day of St. Anne and St. Joachim, Jesus’ grandparents, we honour the elderly and ensure that they never become invisible, isolated, or neglected.
Everyone longs for genuine connection, love, and belonging. We are blessed by the wisdom, stories, and experience of older generations that can inspire us and illuminate our path.
With age comes the gift of perspective – the wisdom to choose peace, let go of drama, and focus on what really matters. The rise of technology may offer many benefits, but it can never replace the wisdom, traditions, faith, and presence of the elderly in our families and communities.
Visit the elderly often, pick up the phone and check in, listen to their stories, and give them the kind love and attentive care they deserve – not just today, but every day.
Growing old does not reduce your value; it reveals it.
