What Prayer Is…And Isn’t

Prayer is not a ritual; it’s a relationship. And like with any relationship, the more time we spend with God, the more we get to know Him.

Prayer is not a one-way request nor is it a vending machine; it’s a two-way street, a conversation with God that involves talking and listening.

Prayer is not a performance; it’s a place where we connect with God and grow in our relationship with Him by staying close.

Prayer is not about changing our circumstances; it’s about changing ourselves. By opening up our hearts to God, He is able to work in us and through us.

Prayer is not a last resort option for when we are in crisis or dire straits; it’s about daily devotion and making God the centre of our lives, not just the spare tire.

Prayer is not a set of memorized words that we recite thoughtlessly; it’s a sincere conversation with God that comes from the heart and reflects genuine feelings.

Prayer is not complaining about what we don’t have or want; it’s about focusing on what’s truly important and expressing gratitude for everything we do have.

Prayer is not a passive reflection; it’s an active participation in developing a partnership with God, aligning with His will and trusting in His care and plans.

Prayer is not just paying lip service; it’s about putting our words and our beliefs into action.

Faith is prayer in motion. “When you pray, move your feet.”

“Your prayer gets God’s attention, but your action gets God’s involvement.

Always remember when you move, God moves with you.”

Prayer not only helps you talk to God but also to walk hand in hand with Him alongside His guiding support, boundless mercy, and loving grace.

Amen.
