“The Longest Journey You Will Ever Take is the 18 Inches From Your Head to Your Heart.”
We may be familiar with God; we might have attempted to read the Bible and attend church.
To what extent has that knowledge traveled down into our hearts so that we can have total faith and trust in God?
Our understanding of God’s Word is not the same as the actual feeling and experience of the truth it conveys. When we transfer what we know in our heads to the ability to experience the presence and love of God in our hearts, we will recognize the beauty and the gift of the Gospel.
Put knowledge into practice by opening the door to your heart and becoming more mindful of God’s lessons. Apply the truth in your daily circumstances, as opposed to living in a world of thoughtless notions and mindless actions.
Set aside time each day to meditate and reflect on God’s Word; read, speak, study, sing, listen, pray, and live God’s Word. As we allow it to sink into our hearts and dwell within us, it will permeate our lives, and impact our actions and relationships.
Head knowledge and heart knowledge are not a matter of “either-or,” but rather “both and.” Together, they help us understand and appreciate what it means to believe in God and experience His amazing love and grace.
We continue to grow as we walk with Jesus and deepen our journey. Make sure not only to embrace your intellect, but to also to put your heart into it. Take what you know and turn your knowledge into true wisdom and compassion, and your information into transformation.
Love is action, not just words.
