What Do You Want in Life?

Two of life’s timeless questions we all set out to explore are:

“Who am I?” and “What do I want in life?”

Here are a few questions you can ask yourself to help you figure out what truly matters to you and to give you clarity and direction.

  • What makes me happy?
  • What are my values?
  • What gives me purpose?
  • What are my physical, emotional, mental, financial, spiritual, and social needs?
  • What would I do if the sky was the limit?
  • Who do I admire, and why?
  • What activities do I enjoy that make me lose track of time?
  • What don’t I like?

Take the time to reflect on these questions, especially if you are feeling stuck, confused, or lost.

It’s so important to know what you really want so you can make it happen.

Follow your heart and do what you love. Give yourself permission to dream and envision your future life. But don’t forget that dreams without goals are just fantasies.

Use your mind to create a roadmap and a plan for achieving your heart’s desires.

Make sure you develop habits to support your future self.

All the positive thinking and plans do not work unless you take step-by-step action.

We are all basically looking for the same things: we want to love and be loved, to understand and be understood, to feel valued and accepted for who we are and not just for our performance, to feel safe and have the courage to move forward, to belong and to connect, to have the freedom to choose, to create and be creative, to have a sense of purpose and meaning, to win, learn, and grow, and to experience health, happiness and peace of mind.
