Turn Your Wounds into Wisdom and Transform Your Life

W – Wounded?  We’ve all been hurt and broken. Nobody escapes being wounded.

Always remember that you are not alone. It’s an everyday occurrence in human life. In order to heal and return to wholeness, we need to learn how to pick up the pieces.

I – Identify and acknowledge your emotional pain.

In order to be able to deal with it and begin the healing process, you need to admit your true feelings and become aware of how you respond to your situation and struggles.

S – Stand up and confront the pain head-on instead of ignoring and numbing the pain.

Stop blaming and start taking responsibility for your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Learn to accept, embrace, and make peace with your challenges. You can’t heal what you don’t feel.

D – Decide to let go. Acceptance is another word for forgiveness. It is a choice you make to no longer dwell in the past and hold grudges. Let go of the pain that bound to the past in order to prevent further damage in your present life and face your future with a renewed sense of purpose and wisdom.

O – Opportunity for positive growth and a better understanding of yourself.

Release the pain by extracting the positive from your negative experiences and learning the lesson. Use the pain as a stepping stone in the process of healing and personal development.

M – Move on… Change your attitude, change your story and change your life.

Your attitude can make or break you. Upgrade your outdated attitudes, beliefs, thoughts, and behaviour patterns. Wounds don’t define us, but they can transform our lives.

Allow yourself to go through the grieving process. There is no one-size-fits-all experience for grieving, but what is required in all cases is for you to be true to your feelings, thoughts, and behaviours. When we get hurt, we keep wishing things would have turned out differently.

In essence, what is needed is to fully experience your emotions as you navigate through the pain. As you adjust and cope, you can integrate the experience into your life and find a way forward to turn your loss into a gain. To continue denying and masking the pain is to continue perpetuating it as you keep on re-creating that helplessness and stressful state of being.

No matter what survival mechanisms you adopted from your past, you can now adapt and develop a more flexible way of handling your pain, along with the wisdom to make healthier connections with yourself and others.

Transform the energy of past struggles by framing your experience and using it as fuel to propel you forward as stronger, more resilient, more free, and more fully present in your life.
