Seize the Day: February 29

As we all know, a leap year happens every four years on February 29th. If we do the math, it actually takes 365.25 days for the Earth to complete one full rotation around the Sun. In order to synchronize the calendar year, we add one day every four years to balance out the extra quarter of a day.

As we lean into March, we can start feeling the shift happening as we approach the Spring Equinox, setting into motion a fresh, new energy vibration. From a deeper, more symbolic perspective, we are given the gift of an extra day that we can also use to recalibrate and balance ourselves.

As we are always complaining about how we don’t have the time, why not make this a special day and make the most of the day we have gained? Think of it like a bonus day.

If you can, plan to take the day off and do something special to recharge your batteries, whether you stay home in your pyjamas or make it a spa day. Go on a small trip or spend some time in nature, where you can feel replenished and relaxed.

Take the time to reflect on where you are today and where you would like to leap forward next in your life. As you reevaluate those new-year resolutions, examine which goals you need to reassess and which decisions you need to make.

Practice meditation and mindfulness so you can feel more grounded and be able to listen more deeply to your feelings as you set forward new intentions into the universe.

This is where you need to keep believing, keep dreaming, and keep moving as you take a leap in faith.

Harness the power of the seasons and, as you get ready to shift energies, take a risk, embrace new experiences, and welcome change.

On your marks, get set, go!
