Getting in Touch With Your Inner Tina Turner

We mourn the loss of a true legend, an iconic singer and performer, Tina Turner.

Apart from her incredible music, she will also be remembered as a great warrior. Her powerful voice, her energy, her music, her strength, and her story will continue to inspire us all and for many generations to come.

Tina once told Angela Bassett, the actress who portrayed her in the biographical movie “What’s Love Got to Do With It?” ‘you never mimicked me. Instead, you reached deep into your soul, found your inner Tina, and showed her to the world.’

Here are some ways I’ve learned to get in touch with my inner Tina:

When you fall, get back up, stay strong, and keep going.

When you’re down and out, look up and keep the faith.

When you are being mistreated, stand up for yourself.

When you feel hopeless and helpless, never, ever give up.

When in doubt, show up and keep believing in yourself.

When you’re feeling lost, light up the way with hope and keep the fire of passion burning.

When the outside world feels chaotic, up your game by learning to look inside.

Reinforce your foundation by incorporating meditation into your daily life.

It can help relax the body, reduce stress, become more present and grounded, increase self-awareness, balance emotions, improve concentration, and cultivate peace of mind. By seeking balance, you can feel recharged and empowered.

When Tina Turner discovered Buddhism, it saved her life and taught her how to transform negative struggles into positive victories.

It’s always up to you.

In life, it’s not what happens to you that will determine how happy you are; it’s how you handle life and all its challenges. It will always be your choice. Take responsibility for your thoughts, actions, and happiness. Don’t try to control or blame others.

Be brave. Feel the fear and find the courage to face your fears as you step into your authentic self and let your spirit rise to the occasion. In the words of John Wayne, “courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway.”

You can only truly be happy when you embrace your true self and live your life on your own terms. That’s how you can create an authentic life filled with purpose, passion, and grace.

Tina gave us her all and she gave herself fully to everything she did. She remained true to herself and pursued her dreams despite the adversities she had to overcome along the way. She simply gave us her best.

In the end, she showed us that love’s got everything to do with it.
