Have you ever noticed how often we get reminders on our cellphones and computers to upgrade our devices? Every year we get new and improved cars, creams, detergents and countless other products. The question is when was the last time you upgraded a better version of yourself?

To be your best self is not about becoming perfect. Like Wayne Dyer said,”You don’t need to be better than anyone else; you just need to be better than you used to be.” Eliminate outdated, negative belief systems that cause distortions and interfere with maximizing your personal growth. Take yourself to the next level.

Here’s a look at some upgrades you can incorporate into your daily life to help unlock your potential. These small changes can create momentum and end up having a big impact.

Get Focused

In order to accomplish your goals, it is important everyday to create a list of your top three priorities. This will help you direct your energy and time into what you need to commit to. If you don’t have a plan, it harder to get to where you want to go as you wonder aimlessly. Even when you have a plan, you may have to take a detour but that doesn’t mean your plan is not working; you just need to learn how to be flexible and creative.

Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

In order to develop your best self, you need to push yourself to make changes. It may be scary but once you learn to embrace your fears, you can conquer the discomfort and continue to grow. This is how you build trust and confidence in yourself; put yourself to the test. And don’t be afraid of making mistakes. They are the best way to learn and to get closer to your goals.

Get Positive

In order to be optimistic, you need to get rid of negativity.  You cannot control what happens to you in life, but you can control your thoughts. How you see things creates your attitude; and your attitude creates your reality. Become aware of your self talk. Switch those negatives thoughts off and replace them with strong positive affirmations.

Get Inspired

In order to get motivated and encouraged to take action, use daily inspiration to help you gain insight and tap into your creativity. Take the time to read, write, draw, paint, knit, listen to music, watch inspiring videos, get out in nature or do whatever you love to do.

Get Physical

In order to feel your best and maintain your health, it is important to move your body. Walking, exercising, dancing, doing yoga, sports, hiking or whatever else you choose, just make sure that it is something you enjoy doing. This will ensure that you stick to a regular routine. Exercising first thing in the morning will make you feel better for the rest of the day. Also, by getting it out of the way, you will be less prone to making excuses for not doing it. However, if morning time is not possible for you, choose whatever times works best for you.

Get Happy

In order to be happy, count your blessings. Every night, take a few moments to notice and reflect on three things you are feeling thankful for. The benefits of practicing gratitude include feeling more positive emotions, feeling more alive, sleeping better, expressing more compassion and kindness and as a bonus, building stronger immune systems. Also, don’t forget to smile. Not only does it make you look good but people are attracted to a friendly smile. It makes you feel happy, relaxed and positive. And when you smile, the whole world will smile back at you. Give it a try!

Get Real

In order to live your authentic life, you have to be honest with yourself. You need to be true to your feelings as they are the gateway to your values, your belief systems and your dreams. 

Reconnect to who you really are as you set your intentions and move in the direction of your heart’s desires. Believe in yourself.
