We all experience pain. There are certain things in life we can’t control, but what we can control is how we choose to approach life and how we handle pain. Instead of ignoring or resisting it, we can learn to deal with the painful moments with more ease and resilience.
Here are some of the things pain has taught me:
Pain is a warning signal designed to protect us. It inform us that something needs our attention and is out of balance.
Pain puts your priorities in order and clarifies what matters most.
Pain increases your strengths in ways you didn’t know you had.
Pain brings you more empathy for other people’s struggles.
Pain asks more questions than it provides answers such as “What do I need to change?”
Pain involves sitting with the discomfort, processing it, and finding solutions to restore balance.
Pain teaches you to slow down, stop fighting, and become more aware of the big picture.
Pain is about finding peace and calm in the middle of the storm.
Pain is not about being punished, pressured, or perfect.
Pain is about becoming more compassionate, patient, and trusting.
Pain reminds us to be grateful for all we have and for whatever we can do.
Pain is a reminder that you are always being guided and protected.
Pain is about remembering to come home to yourself.
