Have You Hugged a Tree Lately?

During the New Age movement, the hippies were onto something when they started hugging trees. Scientific research shows that trees emit positive ions immediately upon contact and trigger a release of the happy hormones in your body, namely oxytocin, serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins. The grounding vibrations of trees soothe your mind, lower stress levels, and enhance your overall sense of well-being, peace, and happiness.

If you need a boost, get an infusion of restorative energy by spending some time outdoors; do some forest bathing, wrap your arms around a tree, sit under a tree resting your back against it, or go for a stroll in the park. Get your daily dose of trees, one of nature’s therapeutic gifts.
