Thank you, Jimmy Carter, for your life of service defined by faith.
He was a man of vision, integrity, and humility. Among his many accomplishments, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his work advocating peaceful solutions to international conflicts, advancing democracy and human rights, and promoting economic and social development.
After his presidency, he continued his work on political and social projects. He established the Carter Center, built his presidential library, and taught at Emory University in Atlanta. He also wrote numerous books ranging from politics to poetry, and taught Sunday classes at his hometown church. Last, but not least, he and his wife, Rosalynn, built homes for the less fortunate families through his project, Habitat for Humanity.
Jimmy Carter was a good-hearted man who lived his faith and walked his talk. He deserves much respect for all the work he has done for humanity. He was a man of great virtues who applied his faith to his daily life. He was genuinely and humbly committed to following the teachings of God in dynamic and practical ways. He was inspired by this quote: “Love God and the person in front of you.”
When his son, Chip Carter, was asked how his father should be remembered, he replied, “A beautiful human being who gave everything he could to his children and his country and who made it a better place than he found it.”
