In our world of constant change and uncertainty, agility has become a more valuable skill. Things don’t always go according to plan. By getting into the habit of big picture thinking, we can avoid getting lost or heading in the wrong direction. We’ll be able to stay one step ahead, be better prepared to adapt as needed, and to adopt new strategies in order to remain on track and keep moving in the right direction.
By rooting our problems in our purpose, we can stay focused on our goals and prevent inaction, fear, anxiety, depression, and paralysis. One essential element of the big picture is that we need to put it in the context of an even bigger picture, which is viewing it from God’s perspective.
This completes the real big picture; however, many of us tend to neglect or discount this aspect in our daily lives. To fully understand and determine our purpose in life, we need a wide-angle view to help us answer the fundamental questions like “Who am I?” and “What am I doing here?”
Our destination is literally out of this world and is bigger than any big picture we can imagine. By rooting ourselves in God, we realize that we are part of God’s plan. We gain a clearer understanding and motivation regarding why we are here and what we need to be doing.
If we can see our lives and the bigger picture through God’s perspective, then our eyes will be opened to His presence and to how much He is intentionally involved in our lives. Our purpose and motivation will rise to a whole new level.
With agility, we can respond to God’s guidance and proactively embrace change. As we go through life’s twists and turns, valleys and mountains, we can remain spiritually alert and continue to grow in faith. We will be able to respond quickly with ease, strength, stability, grace, and wisdom.
God’s perspective is not limited like ours is. If we compare our perspective to that of a submarine, we are under the water in darkness, whereas God’s unlimited perspective is like a periscope. He can see beyond what we can see. He knows where we are and where we are heading. Align yourself with God’s perspective, trust in His bigger picture, and everything will go according to plan.
