Every human being has a past. Every human being has made mistakes and will continue to do so. The secret is to grow from your mistakes in order to move forward and build a life enriched with strength, wisdom, and resilience.

Focusing on the past can serve as a painful reminder, weighing you down, and preventing you from enjoying life. Focusing on the present can offer you daily opportunities to define who you want to be and to change your perspective and response as to how you will handle obstacles.

Let go of the baggage from the past and practice forgiving yourself and others. Be grateful for all the lessons learned and use them as guidelines to make better choices. Most importantly, letting go of the past means you are no longer allowing it to control you.

Always keep in mind that you are in control of your life. Make room and space for healing and happiness to occur as you learn to adapt, grow, and transcend your past, regardless of how challenging it was.

Stop making the same old mistakes and start making new ones!
