It’s remarkable how a scent, a song, or your favorite childhood treat can evoke a moment from the past that transports you back to a time when life seemed happier and more stable. These memories make you long for those simpler days.

I remember turning thirty and wishing to be twenty again. And then when I turned fifty, I wished I could be thirty again. I also recalled how the older folks would always be talking about the good old days; even if those times were hard, they remembered the good.

Now that I’m in my golden years, I, too, find myself reminiscing about the past. It’s not the material things that count; it was the feeling of making a meaningful connection and about the people who touched your soul, even if it was just for a brief moment.

I also realize that the good old days are happening now, for the only time we have is the present, and we need to be mindful and stay in it. Even though the good old days may be long gone, they will live on forever, so thanks for the memories.

Appreciate today, for someday it will become tomorrow’s good old days.
